		<description>Thanks for the tips. The pot was teflon coated, and my wife is fairly adamant (is that an oxymoron?) about me not using anything that could scratch the teflon. I&#039;m thinking about getting some wooden utensils at this point.

I really appreciate your input! Oh, and my neighbor took the food to give to his dog/ add to his compost heap.</description>

		<description>Cleaning your burners is easy and should be done regularly. Most electric coil stoves have removable burners and you can pull up the burner plates and wash them. Alternately, some people cover their burner plates in aluminum foil so when it&#039;s time to clean it all they have to do is throw out the old foil and put on new foil. If something makes your burners smell, it&#039;s likely burnt-in food. 

Also unless you&#039;re using teflon I would use metal utensils for this exact reason.

I would use this opportunity to spoil yourself on pre-made food though.</description>
