30.Apr.2008 Creative Cat Toys!

Cats are funny. You can buy them an expensive cat toy, and they will completely ignore it, but they go wild over the silliest things. I use a curtain rod to close my office door (yeah, I’m lazy), and my cat goes absolutely bonkers when I use it. She gets really wild!

My friend would buy bird feathers, like the ones you see here, and her cats loved them! I think she actually bought peacock feathers, but the ones you see here are Pheasant feathers. They are actually a very cost effective cat toy! I think she also used Feather Boas to make her kitty go wild. Talk about some hot kitty action!

I found feathers like these for sale at Ostrich.com. They sell both wholesale and retail, and their prices are very reasonable. They can help you with ostrich farming, too!

Let me tell you about my adventures in homemade cat toys! I thought it would be a great idea to take one of those tiny remote controlled cars and cover it with fur. All I needed was a little hot glue and an old cat toy. Well, I actually went out and bought a stuffed mouse. Then, I cut it open, removed the stuffing and hot glued the hide over the little R/C car. Brilliant, or so I thought. Unfortunately, my cats weren’t impressed- they would stare at it until it ran out of batteries, then Mario, our feisty troublemaker took it in his mouth, growled, and promptly escorted the toy to the back yard. That’s his signature move, by the way.
